...Frequently
Asked Questions...
via email and face time
“Are
you related to James Marsden?”
Yes!
And no. I do have a brother, Jim (plays darn good banjo!), but he
is not the James Marsden of X-Men fame. I have met X-Men Jim, and
he is quite sweet… although, at this time, I cannot comment
on his banjo skills.
“What
about Jason Marsden?”
I
am
not related to Jason, either. Jason and I worked together on Step
By Step once upon a time ago, and we figure we may be related some
generations back, due to a group of Marsdens existing in Marsden,
England and all, but there is nothing confirmed. Jason is an awesome
lad; find him online at: It's
Jason Marsden!
“Which
do you like better; acting or singing?”
I’ve
pondered. I’ve gone deep. I’ve contemplated. I’ve
walked in circles with a re-heated cup of coffee, tripping over
my snoring dog pretending to think. And no, it wasn’t painful.
The thinking part, that is. I did stub my toe; thanks for asking.
However, I simply cannot answer this question. Both expressions
are such an integral part of who I am, it would be like separating
twins at birth. Ok, maybe that’s a bit drastic…. Separating
the peanut butter from the chocolate?
"How
was it working with Snoop Dogg?"
This may blow his image, but Snoop was a complete
gentleman, and very courteous. He thanked me for "going all
out" and making our sketch as funny as it was, and thankfully
VH1 had the same thoughts. We ended up as #10 in "VH1's
50 Funniest Moments in Music."
“Do
you remember me?”
Yes,
I do, you scoundrel.
“Strawberry
and pasta???”
Ok,
ok, you keep ribbing me about an answer to an interview question
on the Fave Foods of the Famous website. I was asked to compare
song writing to cooking and I came up with an answer that included
strawberries and pasta in the same pan. Well, not wanting to disappoint,
I have searched, scoured and scrounged (ok, so I just cracked open
a book I had on my shelf) and actually found a recipe that includes
strawberries and pasta TOGETHER! Ha ha! So, because I be like that,
I will share it with you here:
Strawberry
Pasta (for 2-3 peeps)
Courtesy of Martha Hopkins & Randall Lockridge
1
pint fresh strawberries
½ lb. spaghetti
¼ cup grated pecorino or parmesan cheese
2 tbls. Butter
¼ c. heavy cream
mint sprigs for garnish
Puree
the strawberries in a blender. Strain to remove seeds. Cook the
spaghetti using the package directions; drain and toss with the
cheese. Heat the butter and cream in a small saucepan. Move the
pasta to a serving bowl, cover with strawberries, and then the butter
sauce. Toss well. Serve with additional cheese and garnish with
mint. Ta dah! Delish!
